Team Hanne Ulla (NO) + Jon Vaughn (CA) have carefully scrutinized YouTube, looking for interesting material to be used as a source for their artistic examination. And now, with their shared love of film, absurdity and all things spooky, they reveal a visual story going far beyond the psychedelic threshold!
Jon Vaughn (CA) makes drawings and collages which have been featured a numerous different zines and publications. He released a split book with Massimillian Bomba (Raw Raw, Italy) in October 2009 entitled Long Bitch. In 2010 Vaughn released his first two solo books, one unttled zine as part of a series called Discovery with French Fourch (Strausberg, France) and one with Opuntia Books (Lisbon, Portugal) entitled SYMYXYM. Vaughn is slated for many future publications most recently a solo book for Underbelly Printing in Texas, USA called “Journey into the Beyond” that is scheduled for release in spring 2011.In the summer of 2010, Vaughn produced “Rainbow in the Night”, his second ever solo exhibition in a public artspace, which spans about 3 and a half years of art-making. Later that year, in October, Vaughn exhibited 30 works in a large group exhibition in Tokyo, Japan curated by Justin Pogue at the Therme Gallery. In March 2011 another 20 of his works were shown in a group exhibition in Paris, France curated by Pink Posiedon (aka Satanik Mike and Iris Ververka) at the La Place Forte Gallery.
Hanne Ulla (NO) discovered the capabilities of drawing at an early age. With a strong interest in both art history and theory, together with more extensively editorial interest, she creates captivating images for magazines, fanzines, books and advertising together with her own individual projects. She is currently working with different projects, such as organizing a group exhibition titled MASSIVE APPEAL and doing fanzine-workshop together with different norwegian artists. She´s regulary featured in ENO Magazine (NO) and has also been published in the likes of Morgenbladet, FETT, GUSTAF, JEG!, Argument and Explain Yourselves!
